Strong Side (LEFT) and Weakside (RIGHT) Seq#1 X1 passes to X2. X1 immediately drives down hard through the middle, calling for the ball to bring attention to the defence. There may be an option for a Give & Go but most likely it won't be there. X1 continues through the middle and fills the crease position. Option #1: X2 passing to X1 (Give & Go) Once X1 passes X2, this triggers X5 to Up-Pick for X4. At the same time, X2 passes to X3. X2 then drives their defender into the middle and comes back to set a pick for X3. X4 comes hard over the Pick and should be in the Prime Scoring Area to receive a pass from X3. X5 rolls to the top to be an outlet option for a swing pass. Option #2: X3 passes to X4 If that player isn't open, X3 move up the wing position and can come over top of the Pick set by X2. Option #3: X3 has the option to come around the pick and shoot Option #4: X3 can pass to X2 who rolls off the Pick and roll. If X3 doesn't see any options that are open, X3 swings the ball over to X5 who is the outlet option for Strongside players (Leftys). X1 moves up to fill the Shooter Position and X2 fills the crease position after their pick and roll cut. This keeps floor balance. Seq#2 X3 swings the ball to the weakside (Leftys) and X3 cuts hard through the middle, calling for the ball to bring attention to the defence. X3 continues through the middle and fills the crease position. Option #5: X5 can pass to X3 with a Give & Go option as X3 cuts through. Option #6: X5 has the option to shoot off the swing pass if the lane is there. As the pass is made to X5, this triggers X2 to set an Up-Pick for X1 and X1 cuts hard to the middle. If those options are not there, X5 passes down to X4. Option #7: X4's primary read is to look for X1 cutting over top of the Up-Pick. X5 drives their defender into the middle and X5 returns to set Up-pick for X4. X4 moves into the wing position on the floor. Option #8: X4 can come around the pick for a shot Option #9: X5 rolls off the pick and may have a Pick & Roll option and receive a pass from X4. If there isn't an option that is open, swing the ball to X2 who has filled the top position. X1 has filled the low crease position and X3 has filled the shooter position. Option #10: X2 shoots off the swing pass. Depending how much time is left on the shot clock, you can begin Seq#1 again or pass the ball down low for a shot at net aiming at the goalies shin pads to generate a loose ball. Top players needs to be ready to defend a quick transition from the opposing team.
